Charitable Donations

Curt, Ali and I are humbled by the generosity and support that The Jake Cavanaugh Foundation has been given. Because of your support, Jake’s Foundation has been able to give over $265,000 to local families whose children are battling cancer and $60,000 to Children’s Mercy Hospitals.   It is always our goal to help others, have fun and remember Jake.  It is because of people like you that we are able to reach our goals.

We want to thank American Century Investments for choosing Jake’s Foundation to be the recipient of 20% of the Book Fair proceeds held in October 2012 and for selecting Jake’s Foundation to be the recipient of the 2013 through 2016 spare change in the American Century Marketplace.  We are humbled that they chose Jake’s Foundation to be a part of American Century’s generosity in giving back to the community.

We would like to thank family and friends for making it possible to name a character to honor Jake. The rabbit is located at Children's Mercy East. Curt, Ali and I picked the rabbit because he looks like he is on the go which certainly captures Jake's personality.

Jake Cavanaugh Foundation Makes Gift to Children's Mercy!

On June 22, 2011 a large group of family, friends, Jake Cavanaugh Foundation volunteers, and Children's Mercy medical staff gathered in the atrium at Children's Mercy Hospitals and Clinics as a check for $10,000 was presented from the Jake Cavanaugh Foundation. This gift will be used to purchase new patient recliners and DVD players for the Hematology/Oncology Clinic at Children's Mercy's main campus. The clinic is currently being expanded to double its capacity to serve patients and families. Jake's Foundation continues to support Children's Mercy Hospitals.

Children's Mercy Hospitals and Clinics operates one of the largest childhood cancer centers in the nation and treats nearly 90% of the patients in the region with cancer regardless of a family's ability to pay. The program was recently recognized as one of the top pediatric cancer programs in the country by US News & World Report. For more information about how Children's Mercy is redefining cancer care and treatment you can visit http://www.childrensmercy.org/Redefine/Oncology/.

The Jake Cavanaugh Foundation thanks all of its
supporters for making this gift to support
Children's Mercy possible!
